Internship Day 1

    On my first day back at the Asia Society Internship, I filled out a lot of google forms with some examples including an introduction to myself and getting acquainted with the new staff and members of Asia Society Texas. My introduction consisted of me talking about my background which is about my journey from LA, Taiwan, Singapore, and finally to Houston. I also talked about my passion for film along with my goals. Finally, I discussed my school trip to Singapore which has been accepted by the school and is in the final stages of planning. Throughout the internship, we were added to Asia Society's Slack page which was something new to me as I had never used Slack before. It reminded me of Discord but for workplaces which was an interesting concept to me. I then made a MyImpact account which helped in allowing me to log in my internship hours and volunteer for any upcoming events organized by Asia Society. Finally, we ended the day off by doing research on Yoshio Taniguchi who was the architect of the Asia Society Texas Center building. Overall, it was a productive and interesting day at the Asia Society Texas Center internship.

Internship Week 3

       For this week's internship at Asia Society, we helped in setting up the Yokai exhibition that would open on Friday. We did this by helping cut some pieces of plastic out so that we could lay them on top of the bookshelves that would hold books from a variety of cultures with all of the books having some form of a mythical monster or beast depicted in them. We struggled with cutting the pieces completely straight but we eventually got it down and we ended up finishing that part. After that, we helped set books up on the bookshelf. The books ranged, from children's books, mangas, and art books about all kinds of mythical stories and beings. After we finished helping with the exhibition, we were given another task. This task involved us wearing Asia Society's brand new merch which was their t-shirts and sweatshirts and having our pictures taken wearing that merch. Internship Week 8

 For this internship, we helped in finding restaurants in Houston that served food on a touchscreen menu where someone clicked on a food, it will show an information page and a QR code that would show a restaurant that served that specific food. We spent quite a lot of time on this as there were a variety of foods that needed different restaurants to serve them. It was tiring and time-consuming but it was worth it in the end as it helped in promoting foods for different cultures.
